They are good at adapting to a new family, even as older birds, making them a plus for the older buyer when considering a choice in parrots. They should be showered often using a mist bottle to keep their plummage shiny and clean. They require a large cage. Blue and Golds are usually not a good choice with very small children. They can be a destructive bird, but toys help curb these tendencies.
